| KJ Choi Signed to Endorse Superstroke™ Putter Grip
Stroke Solutions, Inc., the Wisconsin-based maker of the oversized SuperStroke™ Putter grip, has signed KJ Choi, one of the world's top professional golfers, to an endorsement contract for 2008.
Choi, the world's ninth-ranked player and a six-time winner on the PGA Tour, had his best season ever in 2007. He won twice on tour and finished an impressive fifth in the FedEx Cup standings.
One of his wins, at the AT&T National Tournament in July, marked the first time he had used the SuperStroke grip in competition. As a result of its performance at the AT&T, the SuperStroke has been on Choi's putter ever since - including impressive performances in the PGA and British Open tournaments, second-place finishes at the Barclays and a UBS Hong Kong Open, and a win at the Shinhan Donghae Open in Korea.
"There's no question that the SuperStroke was one of the hottest products to hit the golf industry in 2007 - especially after KJ won with it at the AT&T tournament," said Ron Creten, president of Stroke Solutions. "We couldn't be happier to have such a quality player, and a quality person, on our team."
According to Choi, putting confidence has been a real factor in his recent success. "In the past, every time I finished my round there was something about my game, usually my putting, that I always felt there was something missing," he said. "But with the SuperStroke that feeling has gone away. It works well and exactly as I thought. It keeps me from using my wrists too much and make me use my shoulders to putt. It just makes the ball roll better and it gives me confidence."
